Yesterday there were about 85,000 people shopping at Fort Kinnaird, ensuring that the shopping centre had one of its busiest ever shopping days.

Today the centre is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm for last minute gifts and while it will be closed on Christmas Day, it will reopen at 9:00am on Boxing Day.

Next week the centre will reopen at 11:00am on New Year’s Day.

Liam Smith, Centre Manager at Fort Kinnaird, said: “Friday 23rd is always one our busiest days with shoppers seeking last-minute presents or preparing for the big day. Because it was a Friday, and we were open until 10pm, it was busier than ever. We expected to welcome a lot of people and had prepared accordingly with additional staff on hand to make it the best possible festive experience for our customers.

“It has been an outstanding December so far and we look forward to that continuing that trend through the Boxing Day sales and beyond.”

Fort Kinnaird is home to more than 70 leading brands including Marks & Spencer, Smyths Toys Superstores and TK Maxx.
