Hearts Jamie Walker today received the welcome news that the yellow card he received during last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox has now been rescinded. Referee John Beaton booked the Hearts man for simulation – diving to you and me – despite Walker’s protestations. However, at Hampden today, the SFA’s disciplinary committee upheld Hearts appeal against the decision and the yellow card has now been removed from Walker’s record.
Meanwhile, Hearts new Head Coach Ian Cathro has said he can’t wait for Saturday’s Ladbrokes Premiership game against Partick Thistle at Tynecastle. He told the official Hearts website:
“I’m looking forward to the game. I’m looking forward to the feeling of the stadium and feeding off the energy,” he said.
“I’m expecting to come up against a well-organised team. Partick have evolved in recent years and their team has more aspects to it now, which is testament to the good work that has gone on at that club.
“So yes, it’ll be a difficult game but the biggest thing for us is to try and be the team that controls the game.
“We need to be ready to try and make the game look the way we want it to.”
On Wednesday, Hearts Under 20s team were beaten 2-0 by Aberdeen at Riccarton.
