A police investigation is underway following the death of a 60-year-old lorry driver whose lorry careered off the road and struck a bollard on the A71 near Wilderness roundabout, Livingston at 10am on Monday morning.

Police Sergeant Gary Taylor, of the road policing unit in Livingston, said: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in the death of a man.

“We are eager to establish the full circumstances of this collision and wish to speak to any witnesses who may have been in the local area.

“I would urge anyone who was near to the Wilderness Roundabout around 10am on Monday, November 14, and saw anything, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
