The small, quirky businesses in and around Edinburgh are one of the many things that make this city such a fun and vibrant place to live. One of our favourite examples of an Edinburgh resident doing her own thing is Ursula Fearn who runs Eve’s Apple Shack- a not for profit which, in her words, “retails Scottish orchard apples from a Tardis”.
The Tardis is a beautifully refurbished ex-police box where Ursula sells a variety of Scottish and Northern heritage apples, most of which you can’t buy in a supermarket and many of which are quite rare. She also stocks the daily newspapers as well as a pick and mix of other lovely items.
One local resident described Ursula like this: “She’s there to help and if you say you need something she’s always willing to go the extra mile. She’s really added so much to the community.”
