Police are appealing for witnesses after two foreign motorcycles were stolen in Dalkeith.

The incident happened sometime between 8 p.m. on Sunday 11th and 8.30 a.m. on Monday 12th September outside the County Hotel on the High Street.

A red Moto-Guzzi and silver BMW K1200 RS, which have German plates, were stolen while the owners were staying the night at the hotel.

Inquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and trace the motorcycles and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Inspector Michelle Ritchie from Dalkeith Police Station said: “The theft of these bikes has greatly impacted on the victims’ holiday and we are currently pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to trace the suspects and reunite the bikes with their owners.

“Anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the County Hotel on either Sunday evening or Monday morning should contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who believes they may have seen the motorcycles since this time, or who knows there current whereabouts is also urged to get in touch.”
