Hibs’ Head Coach Neil Lennon was delighted with his players during yesterday’s 2-1 win over Falkirk.
Hibs started the game brightly and opened the scoring after 90 seconds when Jason Cummings slotted the ball into an empty net after Bairns’ keeper could only parry a James Keatings’ strike from the edge of the area.
Craig Sibbald equalised with a superb long range effort but Cummings grabbed the winner just after the break, showing why he is attracting interest from south of the border.
After the game, Lennon told Hibs TV: “There’s a bit of work to do but it’s a brilliant win. It’s not easy to come here. Falkirk are a strong team in this division and we were away from home.
“We had a great start then I thought we just sat back and invited pressure which he didn’t need to do.
“It looked a bit tentative for 20-25 minutes in the first half but I thought the second half was a great performance.
“We looked more of a threat actually in the first half but we had more control of the game in the second half. Cummings got the winner but he could have had three or four but there were some great performances out there and it was a brilliant win.
“Set plays, defensively we looked strong but I would like to see us a little bit fluid at times but that will come, the sharper the boys get.”
