Speaking ahead of a meeting with the Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council to discuss new Strategic Policing Priorities, Cabinet Secretary for Justice Michael Matheson said:

Michael Matheson - SNP - Falkirk West“This Government has a clear vision for Scotland, one of a fair, equal, inclusive and prosperous nation. Empowering communities to take the decisions which affect them is key to achieving this aim.

“Everyone in Scotland, no matter their background, must be able to experience the benefits that come with having an effective police service. The draft Strategic Police Priorities are a key building block in delivering this goal.

“These new priorities are an important part of the transformation of our police service and I would encourage everyone to have their say, both on the priorities and the Equality Impact Assessment which issued as part of the consultation.”
