Procession will be met by Lt Col Douglas McKay, Garrison Comd Army, Squadron leader Jerry Riley, RAF, and Lt Phil Gamble, RN.

The Flag Raising Ceremony is a national event occurring simultaneously across the country to launch Armed Forces Day and Edinburgh’s involvement, as the city prepares for a packed day of events on Saturday 25 June to honour Armed Forces personnel past, present and future.

The procession carried the Armed Forces Day Flag from West Parliament Square and will then move across the High Street and into the City Chambers quadrangle where it was met by the Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh accompanied by Lt Col Douglas McKay, Garrison Comd Army, Squadron leader Jerry Riley, RAF, and Lt Phil Gamble, RN.

The official Armed Forces Day flag was hoisted above the City Chambers.
