More reorganisation has become necessary following complaints about the alternative arrangements made for some pupils.
Parents of the P6 and P7 pupils from Oxgangs Primary School have voiced concerns about the temporary classrooms their children have been using at Wester Hailes Education Centre. Following this the council has made new arrangements to move these pupils to Niddrie Mill Primary School which they say will provide a more appealing teaching environment for primary age children.
A member of staff from Scotmid Cooperative in Edinburgh will be in the team which is off to Paris on a 300 mile charity bike ride starting from London. The team will take part in the challenge between 18 and 22 May to raise funds for the company’s two charity partners, Alzheimer Scotland and Alzheimer’s Society.
Stewart Dobbie from Edinburgh who works in Scotmid Co-operative’s Head Office, said: “Every year we commit to working with a charity that is close to our hearts and this year we’re delighted to be supporting Alzheimer Scotland and Alzheimer’s Society.
“There’s no doubt that the challenge we’ve set ourselves is one of our most gruelling so far, but we’re a determined bunch and our training has been paying off so far. Cycling from London to Paris, two of the most iconic capital cities in the world will be unforgettable, and we’re sure that staff and customers will do their bit to support us by donating what they can for two very worthwhile charities that help people living with dementia.”

Watch the Cadets in all their glory as the pipes and drums perform ‘Beating Retreat’ at this glorious free event.
Cadets from the Army Cadet Force, Sea Cadet Corps, and the Air Training Corps combine in an inspiring evening of military music and a colourful marching display.
The evening opens with a performance of Beating Retreat, the traditional military ceremony of Scottish music and pageantry, followed by a military band performance concluding with the Massed Pipes and Drums.
Attendance is free of charge, event starts at 1900hrs, so you will need to be in situ for 1845hrs to ensure a seat.
Event concludes at 2000hrs
The city libraries held ‘Dazzle workshops’ during the Easter holidays, when more than 150 people took part across the city.
What is a Dazzle? It is in fact a Dazzle Ship. Turner Prize nominee Ciara Phillips will launch the latest Dazzle Ship as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival from May 2016.
Ciara Phillips, a long-term resident of Scotland, will ‘dazzle’ the MV Fingal, which is berthed at the Prince of Wales Dock in the historic port of Leith. As an artist with a longstanding interest in the history of signs and symbols as they relate to print media, Phillips will put her own unique spin on the astonishing camouflage patterns that adorned battle-ready ships in the Port of Leith one hundred years ago.
