Hibs Head Coach Alan Stubbs has sent his congratulations to Rangers who won the Scottish Championship last night after beating Dumbarton at Ibrox in front of 48,000 supporters.

A goal from full back James Tavernier in the 50th minute secured the three points which mean that they can not be caught in the title race.

A poor run of results in March leaves Hibs 20 points behind with only six games remaining and now Rangers have won the automatic promotion spot.

Throughout the season Stubbs has been accused of ‘mind games’ by Rangers fans, however the Hibs’ boss insists that there is no bitterness between the management teams of the clubs.

Speaking immediately after last night’s victory over Livingston, Stubbs said: “Congratulations to Rangers. They  have been the most consistent team over the season and because of that they deserve to be champions. I’ll ring Mark (Warburton) and Davie (Weir) up later on and I’ll be on the phone to say congratulations to them.

“Hopefully it will be us that are going up with them.”
