Hearts have announced that young winger Billy King has joined SPFL Championship leaders Rangers on loan until the end of this season.
The 21-year-old was a key member of Hearts championship winning team last season and his move will surprise – and disappoint – many Hearts supporters. King has featured in the first team in recent weeks covering for the injured Sam Nicholson but with Nicholson and Jamie Walker poised for first team comebacks, Hearts Head Coach Robbie Neilson thought it best for King if he got regular games, albeit in a lower division where he’ll he looking to thwart Hibernian’s promotion bid for the second season running.
Meanwhile, Hearts have been linked with moves for Dundee United’s talented midfielder/defender John Souttar and Dundee’s teenage striker Gary Wighton.
