One of the airlines which offers flights out of Edinburgh, Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, offers alternative options to travellers wanting to fly from Scotland to London.
But they also offer convenient, hassle-free international connections now that the Heathrow link operated by Virgin’s Little Red service has stopped.
The airline has direct daily flights from Aberdeen and Edinburgh to London City Airport located in the very heart of the city’s financial district, or onwards to the rest of the world via its services to Birmingham and Manchester airports.
Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, says: “We encourage customers to make the switch from red to purple! Flybe offers perfect options and there is no need for people to worry that they are cut off from easy access to London or from having easy access to the rest of the world now that the Heathrow air link operated by that ‘other airline’ has gone.
“Flybe continues to operate affordable, high frequency flights from Aberdeen and Edinburgh to London City Airport. We recently upgraded the aircraft on our popular Aberdeen to London City route to meet customer demand and, being right in the heart of the city, it is far more accessible than those airports located miles away on the very outskirts, meaning shorter travel times and better business links.”
The airline is also able to offer worldwide connections via Birmingham and Manchester Airports – both key Flybe hubs to which passengers from Edinburgh and Aberdeen can fly direct. With several interline partnerships with major overseas’ carriers, and codeshare agreements with Aer Lingus, Air France, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Etihad, Finnair and KLM, Flybe passengers can enjoy seamless onward travel to long haul destinations such as Atlanta, Dubai, Hong Kong and New York without the hassle of long road or rail journeys to other airports in the south east.
Flybe’s recently announced partnership with Skyscanner has also served to strengthen its ‘One Stop to the World’ offering. Customers can now make long haul bookings instantly with airline partners via a direct link from Flybe’s websitewww.flybe.com. This powerful bespoke search tool calculates all options available for flying to selected long haul destinations from many of the key regional airports served by Flybe, detailing all possible itineraries, timings and convenient connections.
Flights with the carriers mentioned above and other partners including Virgin Atlantic, can also be booked through local travel agents.
