Hibs’ legend Pat Stanton and current Chief Executive Leeann Dempster have asked fans to buy season tickets to help the club progress.
Around 7,500 fans have already committed their support by buying season tickets, more than this time last year, and the money raised will help Head Coach Alan Stubbs to build a squad capable of being promoted back to the top flight.
Speaking on the 140th anniversary of the founding of the club, Pat said: “Hibernian supporters have always given the Club their backing, and I know it will be the same again. We can all see the progress that the Club is making under Leeann and Alan, and I hope that supporters who can afford it will do their bit.”
Leeann Dempster said: “Today is a big day for the Club, marking 140 years of history and of being a really important part of the community in Leith, in Edinburgh and wider afield.
“The Club has a long history littered with innovation, glorious triumphs and – like all clubs – moments of sadness. What we all need to do now is to focus on making sure that as we look ahead we see more triumphs ahead, more success, more enjoyment. We all have a part to play, and that is why we are taking our season ticket message into the heart of our community in this highly visible way.”
