The best young cyclists in Scotland will begin the long pedal for medals on Sunday when the 2015 ScottishPower National Youth Racing Series gets underway in Ingliston.

This weekend’s ERC season starter at the Royal Highland Showground is the first of 28 events which will run between March and October, showcasing Scottish Cycling’s most exciting, emerging talent.

Sunday’s event is expected to attract a field of 135 and will feature races for boys and girls aged from under-8 level up to under-16s. The 2015 national series is supported by ScottishPower’s investment in Scottish Cycling, the largest ever sponsor of youth cycling in Scotland. 

Clubs represented this Sunday include Edinburgh Road Club, Glasgow Riderz, Glasgow Glenmarnock Wheelers, Peebles Cycling Club, East Kilbride Road Club, Discovery Junior Cycling Club, Johnstone Wheelers Cycling Club, Ythan Cycling Club, Grampian Tigers and Paisley Velo Cycling Club.
