Midlothian Snowsports Centre at Hillend is currently shut due to high winds.
Midlothian Council is also urging drivers to take care on the roads in their area as snow could fall overnight and lie on higher ground.
The gritters will be out from 20:00hrs and will remain out as required.
From 05:00 tomorrow (Wednesday), the gritters will be supplemented with mini tractors and mini gritters.
Footway clearing staff have been put on standby if required to clear footways in the morning.
