Trevor Royle at NLS: on the 98th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme ‘Flowers of the Forest’ author Trevor Royle will explore the battle from a Scottish point of view and explain that, despite the heavy casualties, the Somme cannot be written off as a complete failure. 6pm, National Library of Scotland, George IV Bridge.
