The Match Game follows the tribulations of a group of young singles who enter into a compulsory state-run matchmaking program. Waking up next to a new face each morning, the young Eleanor and David must spend 24 hours alone with them before deciding if they wish to spend the rest of their lives with each other. A cast of nine 18-19yr olds caught between College and University bring to life this fast paced satire of finding love, compromise, and everything in between, in a modern student ‘hook up’ culture.
18 year old Jack Clover’s script won a rehearsed reading on the roof of the National Theatre performed by members of the cast of Nicholas Hytner’s Othello as a result of being one of the runners up in The National Theatre’s ‘New Views’ playwriting competition for 15-19yr olds in 2013. The cast are a mixture of gap year students, drama students at LAMDA and members of NYT.
