The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to attend a road traffic collision involving cars at the junction of Lanark Road, Edinburgh this morning.
Operations Control Edinburgh received a call during the rush hour with reports of one female casualty trapped. They immediately mobilised two appliances from Sighthill fire station to the incident.
On arrival firefighters stabilised the vehicle before using hydraulic cutting gear to remove the roof and doors. Crews then safely removed the female casualty and passed her into the care of paramedics who took her to Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for further treatment.
