RNLI Queensferry were called out on Tuesday evening just before 8:00pm to a yacht with two persons on board, which was well aground near the entrance to Charleston Harbour.
Due to the low tide the lifeboat couldn’t get close enough to the yacht, and so coastguard rescue teams from Queensferry, Kinghorn and Fisherow were requested to help out.
They arrived and used mud rescue equipment, to get out to the yacht and guide the two persons ashore.
The rescue teams then set up an anchor so that when the tide rises the yacht will refloat. The lifeboat stood by until all Coastguard personnel were ashore then returned to station.
