Principal-X3The University of Edinburgh is hosting a visit from 20 higher education administrators from the United States this week.

Part of a Fulbright Commission initiative, the three-day visit aims to provide new opportunities for transatlantic collaborations and partnerships.Ā The Fulbright Program was set up to foster mutual cultural understanding through educational exchange between the United Kingdom and the US.

The US delegates have visited 11 other educational institutions in the UK and Edinburgh will be the final visit of the groupā€™s 20-day tour.

This is the inaugural year of the initiative, which aims to introduce American administrators in high education institutions to education and culture in the UK. University administrators are seen as a vital part of exchange programmes.

The delegates will enjoy a full programme during their visit to Edinburgh. It will include a reception at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, followed by talks hosted by Principal, Professor Sir Timothy Oā€™Shea and the Universityā€™s Vice Principal International, Professor Stephen Hillier.

There will be numerous discussions on a range of issues regarding higher education, including the student experience, academic outreach and admissions and marketing before the delegation leave Edinburgh on Friday.
