Following a triumphant year with Macbeth in Scots which culminated in a performance at the Courtyard Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, Edinburgh Theatre Arts presents another literary classic: David Copperfield. Charles Dickens’s semi-autobiographical novel is brought vividly to life in Matthew Francis’s colourful and fast-moving adaptation. Full of energy and vitality, the play chronicles young David’s journey from happy infancy through brutality, adversity, friendships won and lost to mature love and contentment. Along the way we encounter a gallery of brilliantly drawn characters. Enjoy Dickens in the unique atmosphere of St Ninian’s Hall.
