A motorcyclist has died after suffering serious injuries in a collision involving two cars in central Edinburgh.
The accident took place near St Margaret’s Loch in Holyrood Park at about 13:30 yesterday.
Paramedics were sent to the scene and several roads in the area were closed.
Police Scotland have appealed for any witnesses to come forward. Details of the dead man are yet to be released.
This is the second accident in the Holyrood Park within the week. A 52 year-old male was involved in a serious accident when he fell off his bike near the roundabout at Canongate on Sunday night. The man, who has not yet been named, was transferred to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and later transferred to St John’s in Livingston. The Reporter understands he suffered serious head injuries.
These accidents have happened in the same week that an 11 year-old boy was knocked off his bike by a white Mercedes Sprinter van on the B6363 near Pencaitland. The boy remains in a critical condition at the City’s Sick Children’s hospital.
