Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for information following a hit and run accident on Kirk Brae, Edinburgh in the early hours of this morning.
A 21-year-old man is currently in the city’s Western General Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries following the collision which happened just before 2am today.
He was on his own at the time and crossing Kirk Brae after being dropped off by a taxi when he was struck by another vehicle which did not stop.
Shortly after, another taxi driver came upon the young man lying on the road.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has information about this incident to contact them.
Inspector Keith Denholm added:- “This pedestrian is suffering from possibly life-changing injuries. He was crossing Kirk Brae from west to east when he was hit by a vehicle between 1.50am and 2am today.
“Anyone who was in the area or who knows someone who was driving on Kirk Brae at that time is asked to get in touch”
The injured man was taken initially to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary before being transferred to the Western General Hospital.
