Perrier award winner and Grumpy Old Women star Jenny Éclair lent a comedic hand to learners celebrating their graduation at Edinburgh’s Telford College this week. The TV star was the special guest for the 2011 Edinburgh’s Telford College graduation ‘celebration of excellence’.
Designed around the theme of earth, wind, water and fire, the event was billed a must see for everyone at the College. And with comedy legend Jenny Eclair leading the celebrations – staff students, family and friends got a real treat.
Principal Miles Dibsdall OBE said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Jenny Eclair agreed to host the graduation, and I know our learners were excited to have her leading the celebrations.
“Jenny was the first ever female winner of the Perrier comedy award and a regular face during the Fringe for many years, so she has a strong Edinburgh pedigree. Edinburgh’s Telford College prides itself in being a leading edge institution – this graduation reflected that.
“All of our learners have worked exceptionally hard to pass their courses, so we wanted to give them a memorable graduation. This event was a true celebration of excellence and the ceremony will definitely be one that’s talked about for years to come.”
Edinburgh’s Telford College, provides a wide range of career related programmes to help learners progress into work or University education. Currently the college has around 17,000 students and 600 members of staff.
