Edinburgh Eagles hosted Fife Lions at Union Park in Carricknowe for, what turned out to be, their fourth win out of four matches in the current season.
The Eagles started as they meant to go on with a try in the first few minutes, which set the tone for the whole game. They appeared to be able to score, when and where they liked, although the Lions put up a reasonable defence at times.
Ultimately, however, in the face of a pretty ‘professional’ performance from the home side, they could doing little to stem the flow of points. The Fife side did score four tries of their own, but the Eagles were, in the end, runaway winners with a 72-18 victory.
