Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses following a housebreaking from a property in Edinburgh.

The incident happened around 1.20pm on Monday 13th December in Hillpark Grove.

Two males were seen making off through rear gardens towards Queensferry Road. The males then asked a passing motorist for a lift but were declined and the driver then called police.

An 18-year-old man was later arrested and charged in connection with the incident in which a watch was stolen.

Enquiries are now underway to locate the second male believed to be involved and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A police spokesman said: ‘We are keen to speak again with the motorist who called in as they may be able to provide a description of the second male that can help identify him.

‘Similarly, anyone who saw anything suspicious in Hillpark Grove or in and around Queensferry Road on Monday afternoon is also asked to contact police.’

The 18-year-old is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Anyone with information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
