The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is to become the latest tenant at Edinburgh Park, as the charity relocates to the west Edinburgh business park from Dunedin House at Ravelston Terrace.
The RSPB has signed a lease with landlord, Miller Lochside View Limited, until January 2020. It will take the whole ground floor – an 11,860 sq ft space – at 2 Lochside View.
The charity sought modern open plan office space and 2 Lochside View, which offers fully-fitted accommodation, provided an extremely cost effective move for the organisation.
Ben Reed, Director at Jones Lang LaSalle acted for RSPB. Commenting on the deal, he said: “Having considered both city centre and west Edinburgh options, 2 Lochside View offered the right blend of price, quality of space and accessibility for staff, with an existing fit-out helping to offset the costs of relocation.”
Duncan Orr- Ewing, Head of Land Management at RSPB added: “We are pleased to be moving to Edinburgh Park. Good quality office space and access to local amenities, especially public transport networks were key considerations in influencing our choice of location. As a conservation charity, concerned about climate change, we also have targets for reducing our carbon dioxide emissions, and a more energy efficient office will help us as part of these efforts”.
Jones Lang LaSalle acted for RSPB and GVA Grimley acted for Miller Lochside View Limited.
