MP for Edinburgh North and Leith, Mark Lazarowicz, has been appointed by Labour’s new leader, Ed Miliband, to the post of Shadow Minister for International Development.
Mark said:-“I am delighted at this appointment, as I have had an interest in international development issues for many years. There is an urgent need for the world community to live up to the commitments it made at Gleneagles in 2005 and elsewhere.
“The Labour government was recognised for its world leadership on international development, and we want to see the new coalition government keeping to the commitments made by Labour.”
The Labour team in Parliament in International Development is to be led by Harriet Harman, who has taken on the role of Shadow Secretary for International Development.
