Morgan & West: Return of the Time-Travelling Magicians

Morgan & West assume the character of 19th Century gentlemen magicians with fine suits, finer whiskers and faultless manners.

They are already on stage and poised for a friendly duel of deception when the audience enters the relatively small venue.  This show provides a great opportunity to watch close up magic close up.

If the challenge for the audience is to work out how the tricks are accomplished, there is little chance of success against Morgan & West.

The duo revel in the audience checking for any cheats as they perform imaginative and amusing variations on card, ball and ring tricks.  A needle swallowing stunt made some people flinch and jarred slightly with the family friendly vibe of the rest of the show.

Definitely not one to be tried at home.

In contrast, a trick that everyone can try but very few will accomplish involves the loose change in someone’s pocket.  As befits a tea-time show, a tasty biscuit trick is served up towards the end.  Morgan & West offer their audience an entertaining hour in which, unlike many shows on the Fringe, the seats nearest the stage provide the best option.
