A total of 57 rods were out on Linlithgow Loch and they hooked into 290 fish (21 kept, 269 released) in challenging conditions with brilliant sunshine with some gusts.
The best tactics were using floating, midge-tip, sink-tip and Di3 lines and the most effective flies and lures for the week included blob, diawl bach, cormorant, snake, UV cruncher and UV lures.
Linlithgow regular, Nigel Muckle, and his boat partner returned 12 rainbow trout in one visit and 35 in another.
Mark Lawton and Freddie Paddon released 15 trout, Tam Robinson, out for four hours, released four fish including a 10lb brown trout (pictured) and George Mackintsh returned nine fish while Jimmy Russell fishing solo returned 14 trout.
Outings recently have included Falkirk Fly Dressers AC who kept four fish weighing 9lb 2oz and returned 27 and Edinburgh Post Office AC who had five boats and returned 33 fish.
Bosses confirm that Linlithgow Loch is restocked regularly and boats are available for either a full-day or four-hour session.

Elsewhere, the season at Lake of Menteith got underway on a chilly day and many of the boats headed for The Butts where some shelter could be found. There was a buzzer hatch and fish were caught and static flies under the bung seemed to be a popular method.
Fish were also found at the top of Gateside Bay and along the Road Shore and there were a number of nice overwintered fish taken, including a few brown trout.

John Gray enjoyed a great coupe of hours at Drumtassie near Blackridge with seven rainbow trout and a lovely brown trout returned. A size 18 top hat and size 20 Griffiths gnat were also popular. Other successful angers were John Johnston with 17 to the net, John Aird with 23 and George Baillie with 11.
There has also been good sport at Allandale Tarn near West Calder and the water is gin clear. A floating line with a buzzer and dry flies or a single white snake were working well and the fishery is open 9am to 4.30pm every day except Monday and Tuesday. Call 01506 873073 for details.
