Former Hibs midfielder Martin Scott has been appointed manager of Berwick Rangers.
The 40 year-old enjoyed a playing career at a high level of Scottish football, including a noteworthy spell at Ross County when he helped the club reach the Scottish Cup final, scoring the winning goal against Celtic in the semi-final.
Colin Calderwood signed Scott in the 2011 January transfer window and made his debut against Dundee United that month.
He played 29 times for Hibs, scoring two goals, coincidentally both against Berwick Rangers in the League Cup.
He finished his playing career at Gala Fairydean Rovers before taking over as manager in 2022.
At Rovers, he led the club to silverware, winning the East of Scotland Cup in 2023.
A Berwick Rangers spokesperson said: “We are delighted to announce that Martin Scott has been appointed as manager of Berwick Rangers, following an extensive and thorough search.
“Martin joins us having managed fellow Lowland League East club Gala Fairydean Rovers since 2022.

“Martin’s passion for developing players combines with a coherent tactical philosophy both in possession and off the ball, and makes us excited for the future of Berwick Rangers.
“We would like to thank club captain Jamie Pyper and vice captain Calum Antell for stepping up to take the team alongside coach Banji Koya for the past two games, and their efforts in leading the side to victory against Stranraer last week will live long in the memory.

Also joining as a coach is Ross Aitchison, who has been working on Martin’s coaching staff at Gala Fairydean Rovers.
The pair will begin working to prepare the team for Saturday’s Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup first round tie against Cowdenbeath, with their first training session with the squad tonight.
