Detectives are appealing for information after a housebreaking in Bilston, Midlothian that took place on Friday, 20 February, 2026.
A property on Gardyveen Court was broken into between 11.45am and 12.30pm and a quantity of jewellery worth a five-figure sum was stolen.
Detective Constable Jamie Donaldson said: “We are carrying out enquiries and viewing CCTV from in and around the local area to gather more information on this crime.
“We would ask local residents to check private CCTV covering the area to see if something has been captured that could assist our investigation. If you were driving in the area around the time of the housebreaking, please also look over any dash-cam to see if it holds anything which could assist our investigation
“A white Peugeot van was seen in the Gardyveen Court area around the time of the housebreaking. We urge the occupants, or anyone with information to contact us in case they witnessed anything relevant.
“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1440 of 20 February, 2026. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
