Over the past month, the Knife Angel, created at the The British Ironworks Centre has been at the heart of a programme of events, conversations and activities focused on raising awareness of knife crime, violence and its devastating impact on individuals, families and communities.
At a closing ceremony today Friday 25 September 2026, Police Scotland issued huge thank you to everyone who supported, attended and contributed to the campaign.
“Your involvement has helped create important conversations and strengthen our shared commitment to safer communities.”
Chief Inspector Kieran Dougal said: “Edinburgh Division has been proud to have supported the Knife Angel residency alongside Places for People, The City of Edinburgh Council and over 100 partners to raise awareness of the devastating consequences of violence crime and the support available to those affected by crimes of this nature.
“There is no place for violence in our society and our officers work daily with our communities and partners to respond to incidents of violence when they arise and support a range of diversionary activities aimed at deterring at risk groups from getting involved in violence.”
