Police have now arrested and charged multiple people in connection with disorder at the St Johnstone versus Hibernian match on Sunday, 6 September, 2026.

Incidents of disorder were experienced before, during and after the match at McDiarmid Park, Perth, including on the rail network post-match.

On Wednesday, 14 October, five men, aged between 18 and 25, and two 16-year-old males, were arrested and charged in connection.

A further three male youths were also charged in connection.

Two males, aged 24 and 17, have already been arrested and charged following enquiries into the disorder which remains ongoing.

They will all be subject to reports to the Procurator Fiscal and relevant youth justice authorities.

Inspector David Rice said: “This has been a joint investigation with British Transport Police (BTP) and our enquiries remain ongoing to trace those responsible.

“Disorder of any kind will not be tolerated and anyone involved will face the consequences.”

BTP Detective Chief Inspector Marc Francey said: “I’m extremely proud of the intensive police work that has enabled us to identify and locate these individuals and hope this acts as a stark reminder to anyone displaying violence on the rail network. We will never tolerate it.”
