Hibs goalkeeper Raphael Sallinger is eager to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible after a disappointing defeat away at Motherwell in midweek.
David Gray’s side were second best on the night; however, Sallinger is keen to put that performance behind him against champions Celtic on Sunday.
He told Hibs TV: “The Manager has been pretty clear with his words after the Motherwell game. That performance was very unlike us, we had a lot of good performances in the lead-up to that game, but what happened, happened, you can’t change the past and we need to look forward and to redeem ourselves on Sunday.
“I am disappointed with every goal I concede. I don’t want to focus too much on the Motherwell match, we are all looking forward to Sunday – it is a big game for us.
“I watched the Celtic match on Thursday – they played very well and got a good result. But, we need to focus on ourselves, on our day, if we play to our levels, then we know we can beat anyone.”
Since joining in the summer, Sallinger had to wait patiently for his chance to break into the starting XI, but has since fought his way into the starting line-up and has held the number one jersey for the majority of the campaign.
The Austrian shot-stopper has made 12 starts – keeping five clean sheets in the process – and with the World Cup around the corner, he is hoping to catch the eye of the National Team selectors.
“There haven’t been a lot of surprises about Scottish Football, to be honest. I am getting a better feeling of how the games go up here, I have played nearly every team except for one – so I am getting used to it for sure.
“I am very happy for my country to qualify for the World Cup, it is a great achievement – I haven’t thought much more about it than that. Maybe they might come and have a look at Scotland and watch some of our games, all I can do is play the best that I can and see what happens.
“There are a lot of players playing for the countries here at Hibs. That would be good for me too – if I can make that happen.”
