Hello! I’m Lucas McQueen, and I’m the in-house film critic for The Edinburgh Reporter, offering my thoughts on all the newest films. Given the current climate, cinemas are in perhaps their most precarious position yet, and as a (relatively) young critic, I’m passionately committed to protecting the unique experience of watching a film in a dark room with people you just met.

In a world where general attitudes lament endless remakes, sequels and superhero fare, I think it’s more important than ever to shine a light on the very best offerings available to help inform your decision when it comes to spending your money on an ever-more-expensive movie ticket.
