Hibs head coach David Gray praised his side’s “professional performance” in their 2-0 victory over Dundee in the William Hill Premiership yesterday.
Bowie opened the scoring in the first half before Jamie McGrath sealed all three points in the second, in what was a very comfortable afternoon at Easter Road.
When speaking after the game, Gray analysed his side’s performance.
He said: “I’m very pleased; a clean sheet and two goals at home.
“With some of the chances we created early on in the game we could’ve made it more comfortable, but it was a real professional performance.
“We restricted them to very little in the first half and have been in matches before 2-0 up where the next goal in the game, if it comes, is a huge one.
“We had to rely on Rapha (Sallinger) to make a big save because if that goes in momentum could shift, but after that save we saw the game out comfortably. That’s why he’s there, to make big saves, and we’re delighted with him for that.
“There will always be things to look at to make sure we get better, but all in all it was a really good day’s work.
“We’ve had back-to-back clean sheets and back-to-back wins, which sets Tuesday night up really nicely.”
Kieron Bowie was back on the scoresheet, bagging his fifth goal of the campaign, and David Gray was delighted with his performance.
“Strikers want to score goals and that’s what gives them confidence. I have been speaking to Kieron a lot recently about what he does for the team. It’s not always just about scoring goals, it’s about the way he plays, and what he does for us. That goal will do the world of good for him, especially off the back of the chance he missed within the game.
“It’s a real positive that he made sure he kept putting himself in the position to score goals. He took his goal really well; he will take confidence from that and can hopefully kick on now.”
