Hibs striker Kieron Bowie scored and provided an assist in yesterday’s comfortable 2-0 victory over Dundee at Easter Road.
The Scotland striker opened the scoring in the first half with an excellent finish on the spin, before turning provider for Jamie McGrath’s second-half strike.
Speaking to Hibs TV after the game, Bowie was delighted with the result and to be back on the scoresheet.
“The main thing for us was to get the three points at the end of the day. To get back in and amongst the goals, I haven’t been scoring as much as I would’ve liked to recently. But, I have kept going and getting in the box because I know the chances will come and the goals will come.
“We kept creating chances all afternoon and we got the lead, but we knew we needed that second goal. Thankfully, we got that in the second half to ensure we stayed ahead, and in the end, it was quite comfortable.”
Bowie’s first half strike was his fifth in all competitions this season and the 23-year-old is keen to kick on as the club approach a key point in the season.
“Earlier in the game, I missed a chance which I know I should’ve scored, but thankfully I managed to bounce back after that. I sort of laughed it off, and I didn’t let it get in my head or let it affect me – thankfully, I got my goal in the end.”
“We need to keep ticking the games off one by one and see how many points we can accumulate. We need to keep ourselves in front and to keep trying to close the gaps on the teams above us.”
