David Martindale, Livingston’s manager, can’t understand why his side were not awarded a penalty in their 2-1 defeat by Rangers at Ibrox in the William Hill Premiership.
The ball, he claimed, hit Emmanuel Fernandez on the arm in the box from a Teti Yengi shot with the sides level at 1-1 in the first half of a scrappy game in Glasgow.
The match referee did not give a penalty and was not invited to review the incident by VAR officials but Martindale claimed the shot was on target but was diverted.
Martindale (pictured) told BBC Sport Scotland: “I don’t understand how it is not given in our favour. It’s a penalty, in my opinion.”
The livid Livi boss said that he had not been given an explanation but said: “I’ll argue his arm is not in a natural position, but he makes a movement towards the ball.”
Rangers claimed the three points to move into fourth spot in the 12-strong table following goals from Fernandez and Mohamed Diomande which sees Livingston remain in bottom spot in the table.
