Livingston bounced back to claim three points following a welcome 4-1 victory in the William Hill Championship at bottom club, Greenock Morton.

It took the Lions, who lost narrowly at home to Stenhousemuir last week, 35 minutes to break through, but two goals in each half secured the win although Morton did make the score 2-1 before two late goals sealed the deal.

Liam Polworth broke the deadlock after 35 minutes, firing home after a rebound, and Robbie Muirhead added a second just before the break, the ball sliding into the net off a post.

Michael O’Halloran pulled one back for the home side after 53 minutes before Emmanuel Danso in 77 minutes, the ball falling to him on the edge of the box, and Jordan Doherty 11 minutes later secured the win. He spun in the box and fired low into the corner.

It was another disappointment for Morton who now have only one point from their opening six games in the Championship but it was certainly a welcome result for Livingston who had former boss, David Martindale, in the dugout as interim head coach following the dismissal of Glenn Whelan.

Livingston had not won on the road in the league this season until Friday night and they now climb to fourth in the ten-strong table with nine points, one behind Raith Rovers, two adrift of Partick Thistle and four behind leaders Stenhousemuir.
