Weed growth is affecting local fisheries and bosses have been forced to close two in particular, Millhall near Polmont, and Newlands Tweeddale.
Millhall say they will be closed until this weekend and are sorry for the inconvenience to anglers.
Newlands Tweedale near Gifford will remain closed until Thursday, July 24 to allow for weed cutting and removal.
Meanwhile, Morton Fishings near Livingston have re-stocked but Allandale Tarn, which was temporarily closed because of the hot weather, is now open again.
On to sea fishing and Alan Brown edged Round Seven of the summer league run by the Bass Rock Shore Angling Club by one centimeter.
He landed a rockling of 27cm from the Dunbar Harbour sea wall and beat his nearest rival, new member, Dave Ellis, who had one of 26cm on his debut.
Fishing was “dire” according to club secretary James Ogilvie who confirmed that the next round will be on July 30 at a venue to be decided.
