The internet sensation, Haggis, the pygmy hippo calf at Edinburgh Zoo, can now be seen exploring her outdoor habitat alongside her mum Gloria.
Visitors to the wildlife conservation charity’s zoo can get a glimpse of Haggis as she becomes bolder, spending more time each day exploring outside.
Pygmy hippos are native to the forests and swamps of West Africa, primarily Liberia. The species is classified as Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and it is estimated that just 2,500 remain in the wild due to habitat loss.
