A fire broke out in a shop in Tollcross opposite the Barclay Church at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening.
A substantial response from emergency services is still ongoing some hours afterwards in Gillespie Place which is part of Leven Street.
The main road, Leven Street, was closed to buses around 6.30 with Lothian Buses advising of changes to services 11,15,16,23,36 and 45: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Leven Street and are instead diverted via Gilmore Place, Polwarth Terrace, Gray’s Loan and Colinton Road in both directions until further notice.”
