Curl Edinburgh are preparing to play a part in hosting an incoming Canadian ladies tour in November, finally reinstating a fixture disrupted by Covid.

A spokesperson said: “These tours happen every five years alternating between incoming and outgoing therefore the incoming tour only happens every 10 years.  This present tour should have taken place in 2020 but as a result of Covid it had to be postponed until this year.  To get back into the proper rotation there will in fact be an outgoing tour to Canada next year, 2025.

“The Canadians will arrive in Scotland on 1 November and will start their tour in Stranraer and will travel around Scotland visiting most curling venues before departing from Glasgow on the 22 November.  There is a Tour Trophy which is played for at each centre and after all games have been completed at every centre, the trophy is presented to the winners at a closing banquet the day before they leave.”

The Canadian tourists play the  Edinburgh leg on Wednesday 13 November.
