An area on Mayburn Avenue was cordoned off on Friday afternoon and locals reported police activity including forensic teams.
Today the police have issued an update.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A man was arrested following warrants in the Mayburn Avenue, Loanhead and Viewcraig Street, Edinburgh areas on Friday, 19 April, 2024.
“The 36-year-old has been charged in connection with the possession of potentially hazardous substances and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 22 April. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“There is no wider risk to the public.”
