Hearts have confirmed that Scott Fraser has joined the Tynecastle club on loan until the end of the season from English League One side Charlton Athletic.

The 28-year-old Dundonian has been on Hearts’ radar for some time and the midfielder has previously played for Ipswich Town, Milton Keynes Dons and Burton Athletic.

Fraser played 81 times for Dundee United, scoring nine goals, and was then loaned to Airdrie where he played 28 games and scored on five occasions.

Burton was his next stop where he made 72 appearances and scored 11 goals before he moved to Milton Keynes where he wore the club’s shirt on 44 occasions scoring 14 goals.

A total of 15 appearances for Ipswich Town saw him score one goal and he has subsequently played 67 times for Charlton scoring nine times.

He first started playing football on Tayside with boys side Dee Club before moving to Longforgan Boys Club and he joined the youth section at Dundee United when he was ten.

At Tannadice, he was the under-21 Player of the Year in 2013 and Hearts’ head coach Steven Naismith (pictured by David Mollison) hopes Fraser will help the club consolidate third place in the cinch Premiership.
