From New Year’s Day there will be a new bus service to the airport.
Bright Bus, which is part of McGill’s Group, which runs a hop on hop off service around the city with tourists aboard will now link to an airport service. The company promises a faster service than any other form of public transport between the city and the airport with an interchange at Waterloo Place onto the tour buses. There are only a few stops on the way to the city, Murrayfield and Edinburgh Zoo, as well as Shandwick Place and a couple of stops on Princes Street.
The tickets will be £4 single, £6.50 return and weekly passes are £20.
Alex Hornby, Group Managing Director, said: “We’re always looking at new ways to give our customers great public transport connections and develop our Bright Bus leisure product further. Bright Bus has been a great success for us and we are keen to spread the magic of this start-up, friendly brand across the city, so incoming visitors and locals alike can reap the benefits of cheaper, faster, brighter and more sustainable travel options to and from Edinburgh Airport. The whole team is thrilled to be launching Bright Bus Airport Express and growing public transport usage across the city.”
