More than 500 people enjoyed Christmas Day at Easter Road stadium. The fans supported the lunch which was provided by The Hibernian Community Foundation.

The day was full of music, games and good food as well as appearances by the Hibernian Head Coach Nick Montgomery and members of both the First Team and the Women’s squad.

Head of Community, Lewis Melee, highlighted the importance of this year’s Christmas Appeal and is grateful for the immense support:

“After an incredibly tough year for so many families within our community, we are completely blown away by the support that we have received.

“We have provided so many meals throughout 2023 with the introduction of our Lunch Clubs. To welcome in so many people and serve everyone a meal on Christmas Day was truly special and showcases the Foundation’s hard work.”

Director of the Foundation, Daljit Singh, added: “We had an unbelievable day providing 500 Christmas lunches from Easter Road.

“The community spirit that has been on show across December has been overwhelming and to achieve our goal of feeding 500 from Easter Road was brilliant.

“After a successful 2023, we are looking forward to expanding our services following the New Year and hope we can continue our development within our community.”

As well as the lunch the foundation also delivered food hampers to those unable to get along to the stadium. The fundraising came from direct donations and a Silent Auction raising around £35,000. The 2023 Christmas Appeal was also supported by Utilita Giving and The Ellen & Ian Graham Charitable Foundation.
