Berwick Bandits whizz-kid Leon Flint (pictured) was due to come in for silverware-chasing Edinburgh Monarchs to face Redcar Bears in the first-leg of the SGB Championship play-off, quarter-final tonight (Friday, tapes-up 7.30pm) at Armadale but club bosses have postponed the fixture.

It looked like a close meeting as the sides have drawn 45-45 in previous home and away matches this season.

Monarchs are minus Drew Kemp who is racing in the World under-21 Final at Pardubice in the Czech Republic. Their other replacement is Jason Edwards who stands-in for the now retired Nathan Greaves.

Bears operate rider-replacement for Michael Palm Toft, who is ruled out with broken fingers after crashing at Wolverhampton on Monday.

Edinburgh star Richie Worrall said: “What you will notice is when it is a really important match – play-offs, Finals, whatever, it is different.

“When it is normal league racing although it is a team, it can be a bit more individual, but you see a total different team when the play-offs and finals come around.

“Everyone is there to help everyone as they know how important it is. You don’t see one captain, you see five or six captains, it all ramps up.”

Bears boss Jade Mudgway said: “We are looking for at least a draw at Armadale, but we have shown throughout the season that we are capable of going to away tracks and winning.

“We have got to be aggressive out of the gate and at the first bend which will help our cause no end.”

STREAMING NOTE: Live streaming is available outside a 25-mile radius of Armadale via the EMTV section of edinburghmonarchs.co.uk .
