Edinburgh Monarchs visit Scunthorpe Scorpions on Friday (tapes-up 7.30pm) and then travel to Berwick Bandits on Saturday (tapes-up 7pm) with both matches in the Cab Direct Championship.

Glasgow Tigers are at Redcar Bears with a patched-up side on Friday (7.30pm).

The Allied Vehicles Tigers have three key riders missing and will field guests to cover for ex-Berwick star, Leon Flint, who is racing for Great Britain in the World Cup final, plus Kyle Howarth (retired for the season) and Mario Hausl (injured).

Cami Brown, Tigers’ team manager, still believes his side can get a result. He said: “It’s a tough task to bring in three guests and get the right spirit in the camp, but we have three guys we know very well in Anders Rowe, Drew Kemp and Reid Battye. If they ride to their potential, we can win.”

He added: “We go with the belief that we can do the job. Redcar are a very good side, but they are also missing Charles Wright who is at the World Cup with Leon.

“We definitely need to win our remaining two meetings to finish second in the league behind Poole. That’s a key objective.”
